My Story

Hi my name is Beatrice; I have had alopecia areata since the 1990s before widespread internet and Google searches. I felt very alone and terrified of losing all my hair and being bald. Eventually, that did happen. I have been completely bald for over 15 years and I’ve been wearing wigs for over 25 years.

Although it has been a minute since I started my hair loss “journey” I remember well just how stressful that was. When I finally bought my first wig in 1995, I went to a brick-and-mortar wig store and it cost $1200! I have no idea what that is in today’s money, but it was a lot! However, I also remember how great I felt; finally having hair and not having to figure out how to cover my next bald spot.

Eventually, as the internet expanded and evolved, I ventured into buying synthetic and human hair wigs online. The range of quality was quite varied. In the meantime, there were several very talented business women who have online human hair wig stores and I have had wigs from several of them. After experiencing that kind of hair quality, I never wanted to go back to cheap human hair.

I started experimenting with coloring and styling hair and I was hooked! I had found something that I loved doing! I got in touch with some wig factories in China and, through trial and error, found which companies sold high quality human hair. I started selling my wigs on Facebook and did this for a while.  Now I have opened an online wig store, Bea’s Bobs! I added the WigQuest bit, because I have truly been on a WigQuest for 25 years now and because that is what I named my Facebook group.

I want to offer high quality wigs at lower prices, because I want my hair loss sisters to experience true luxury wigs at an affordable price range. You will rarely find very long wigs, because long hair is significantly more expensive. If I find a longer wig that is affordable, I will buy one from time to time to work on it.
